This release puts Drive in the spotlight — OpenCloud accounts, a folder tree you arrange yourself, folder colors and search across a whole storage account — alongside a daily catch-up from the AI assistant, automatic replies that can answer colleagues and outsiders differently, and menus that finally agree with each other across the whole application.

  • A daily catch-up from the AI assistant: After time away, a “While you were away” chat is created automatically and announced by a dot on the AI button. It reports the new mail, upcoming appointments and due tasks since you were last active, says on each card what it asks of you, and offers the next steps as buttons. How long an absence has to be, and whether the digest may create tasks for you, are settings of your own.
  • The assistant shows its thinking — and can be stopped: Answers can carry a collapsible “Thoughts” block summarizing how the assistant got there, and a new “Thinking Effort” setting (Off, Low, Medium, High) decides how much of that work it does. While an answer is being written the send button becomes a stop button, and stopping really stops: the pending exchange is discarded and nothing is kept. The assistant also suggests fresh example prompts each day, and the mobile compose chat is now a full-screen view that can be minimized.
  • Switch the Drive layout straight from the toolbar: Buttons for the list, icons and tiles layouts, and for showing or hiding the file details. The details panel now opens as wide as a side panel and can be resized by dragging its left edge.
  • Move files and mails to recently used folders: The Move button in both Drive and Mail now offers the folders you moved things to recently, so moving to the same folder again no longer needs the folder picker. Folders that no longer exist drop out of the list on their own, and a mail moved this way can be undone like any other move.
  • Give a Drive folder a color: Folders can be marked with a color of their own from the folder view's context menu — a personal mark that is not shared with anyone the folder is shared with. Folder icons were redrawn as one consistent outline so a colored folder stands out while every folder still looks like the same icon, and a selected folder no longer fades into its row.
  • Search a whole storage account: Drive search can now cover an entire connected account rather than a single folder, with one entry per account, a clear choice between “Current folder only” and “Current folder and subfolders”, and a start in the account you are looking at instead of always the primary one. Search now also works in “My attachments”, and recognizes many more file types — iPhone photos (HEIC/HEIF), WebP, AVIF, FLAC, Matroska video, CSV, and Apple Pages, Numbers and Keynote documents — with archives matched by their extension.
  • A Drive folder tree you arrange yourself: Folders are grouped into a named section per storage, and those sections can be reordered or hidden — from the tree itself, or from the new “Folders and accounts” page in Drive settings.
  • Connect an OpenCloud account to Drive: OpenCloud storage can now be integrated into Drive, giving access to the account's Personal, Spaces and Trash folders. Files and folders can be shared by public link, with an access level, a password and an expiry date, and the link copied to the clipboard in one step. The storage widget reports the storage you are actually looking at — per space for OpenCloud — and stays out of the way where a storage publishes no quota.
  • The existing Nextcloud integration gained the same polish: translated folder names, icons of its own, how full each folder is, public links, opening a file directly in Nextcloud, and recovery from the account's trash.
  • Automatic replies can answer colleagues and outsiders differently: An out-of-office reply can carry one text for senders inside your organization and another for everyone outside it, or go to colleagues only. The AI assistant can set, update, activate and deactivate the notice for you from the chat. The feature is switched on per deployment.
  • More control in Calendar: Deputies can optionally be allowed to see confidential appointments with all their details. New accounts can be provisioned with a default reminder time, and an iCal import can apply your own reminders instead of the ones in the file. CalDAV clients can subscribe to a new virtual “All my public appointments” collection.
  • Instant sync for CalDAV and CardDAV clients: Calendar and address book clients such as DAVx5 can now be notified of changes as they happen, over a new Web Push transport, instead of polling for them.
  • Themes can restyle more, and a new one to try: Themes now reach fonts, corner radii, shadows and popup borders, and several colors that previously ignored the theme now follow it. The new “Curses” theme uses all of it for a nostalgic text-UI look: monospace, square-cornered and dark, with a cyan accent.
  • For plugin developers: Tailwind CSS v4: Core UI now emits a Tailwind v4 utility layer beside the existing cascade, which plugins may use without adding Tailwind to their own build. This is a breaking change — a number of utility classes must be renamed, and a further set is deprecated and will be removed with 8.56.
